John 15:1-5
Fifth Sunday of Easter

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew 7:13-14) Few find the way not because it is difficult, but because it is narrow. Jesus said, "I am the vine, and ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing." (John 15:5) Herein Paul and James find common ground, with faith being the connection and fruit the works. The vine doesn't try; it merely abides. May you all abide in Christ, and in doing so, bear fruit.
